Road, rail and air
The Sunshine Coast is just over one hour by road north of Brisbane, Queensland’s state capital. The region covers an area of 2,291 square kilometres with 52.3 kilometres of open coastline stretching from Caloundra to Noosa. The Sunshine Coast is accessible via the Bruce Highway and rail lines from Brisbane and to the north. The Sunshine Motorway joins the southern and the northern ends of the region.
TheÌý is ideally situated in the heart of the Sunshine Coast and is actively adding new routes, with direct Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Auckland, New Zealand flights available across a range of carriers and connections to the world. The airport delivers access to an increasing numbers of domestic destinations, with plans for international travel.
Local public transport includes bus and rail, and light rail is planned for Caloundra to Maroochydore. Local bus services operate door-to-door shuttles between Brisbane Airport and Sunshine Coast Airport seven days a week.
