We are thrilled to share the news that Year 3 teacher Jenny Webb has been nominated for a (National Excellence in Teaching Award), which recognises outstanding teachers. Winners will be announced January 2019.
Flinders Head of Primary School Trudi Edwards congratulated Mrs Webb who joined Flinders in June.
鈥淛enny is a passionate teacher with a focus on evidence-informed practice, and we are thrilled to have her join our teaching staff,鈥� Mrs Edwards said.
鈥淗er nomination by a member of the community coincides with World Teachers鈥� Day this Friday, 26 October, which is a wonderful opportunity to recognise and thank our passionate teachers, like Mrs Webb,鈥� she said.

Flinders is one of the leading schools on the Sunshine Coast, with students achieving strong OP results and in most years 95% of its Year 12 graduates gaining entry into their chosen university courses.
Jenny Webb said her love of teaching was due to the diversity that students bring to her life.
鈥淥ur students鈥� individual personalities, strengths and abilities enable us to learn from each other in the classroom and build a culture of teamwork and improvement,鈥� Mrs Webb said.
鈥淢y teaching goals are to continually focus on and improve my skills and knowledge so that I can deliver my best self to the students in my class.鈥�
Celebrated in more than 100 countries world-wide, World Teachers' Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 1994 to recognise the role of teachers in society.
Flinders will celebrate all our teachers on Friday, 26 October with a special morning tea.
